Biography
Thomas obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He became interested in computational engineering during his undergraduate research at SCFDL in Knoxville under Dr. Devina Sanjaya. This interest was strengthened through multiple internships at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. As a Ph.D student under Dr. Tan Bui-Thanh, Thomas currently works on the intersection between numerical methods and machine learning with aerospace applications, with an emphasis on hypersonics.
